Here’s a piece by Shane Claiborne and Tony Campollo dissociating themselves from the evangelical movement, first named in the 1930s they argue, and asking instead for an identity tied less to a political party. Calling themselves Red Letter Christians.

Very interesting article that would change the “evangelicals to the Red Letter” believers. I understand why they have used ‘red letter’ because in many Bibles the words of Jesus are highlighted in red. My concern that the new name might be the wrong message and people may confuse that name with communism. However I agree that a new name is necessary to distance themselves from any political party.
