Dear Friends at Briarwood,
As I have already announced and written to you regarding my call to Central Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, I wish to add that, as of last evening, the final steps are now complete and the call is official.
This has been a process of discernment and I have been affirmed in many ways that this is God’s call right now.
We are sad to leave the Briarwood community, the people, the expressions of worship, witness and mission. At the same time we are looking forward to life at Central Presbyterian, and the relationships that will be built there.
The process now is that on my departure an Interim Moderator will be appointed to lead the Session and congregation. We plan to leave 26 July.
The Interim Moderator will then initiate a search committee for the next pastor of Briarwood.
In the interim, you have a wonderful set of elders to carry on the ministry of Christ in this congregation.
