I attach two photos:  one of the new bench project by the memorial fund committee and one of Fay, Rene and Elizabeth, whom met at Fairview.  Elizabeth kindly gave me 30 poppy stickers for the children at Briarwood next Sunday.  Thank you!

Wishing everyone a good weekend.  Please remember the family of Yvette N., whose funeral was at the beautiful Mont Royal on Wednesday.

Best

October 2013 Newsletter Letter

Greetings Friends,

This October is full of opportunities for growth, worship and service.  We will be celebrating Holy Communion together on October 6th at 11:30 a.m. and October 13th (Thanksgiving) at 10 a.m.  October 20th is a Blended Service at 10:30 a.m. followed by the annual Brunch.  The Fall Study Series led by Dr. Kuntz starts October 27th.  There is Youth Bible Study every Wednesday night and Youth Group every Friday night.

At its mini-retreat in September the Session discussed a process of visioning and goal setting for the next 5 years for Briarwood.  Where is God calling us to invest time and resources?  Where is Christ leading us?  Everyone is invited to set aside Friday, November 22nd, for a Pea Soup and Planning Evening, where the Session will be looking for input from the whole congregation on where we believe God is guiding in the next 5 years.  In the past, these have been really important events in the discernment process, so I would encourage you to participate at this stage, as is possible.

Wishing everyone an excellent October.  A month of harvest.  A month of Thanksgiving.

With all good wishes,

Greg
