Sunday’s Coming 130

Wow.  Greetings.

What an amazing week at Briarwood, with a hugely successful Camp all week followed by a Youth Group Concert Friday night by Parchment Skies.  Thank you Danielle for all your work in coordinating these two events, and all the volunteers who made it possible!!

This Sunday there are two services, 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. (all July and August), with kids’ faith program and Nursery.  The story is from Luke 5: 27-39, the call of Matthew.  We finish up the month’s theme on Decision Making with Matthew’s encounter with Jesus.

We welcome Eudora on the conga drums, Alison C. home from Queen’s on the flute and Professor Brett M. on vocals at the 11:30 a.m.  During both services on Sunday we’ll enjoy a special Vacation Bible Camp video highlighting some of the events during the week.

Thank you and God bless.

See you Sunday.

Greetings,
This Sunday there is an outdoor service at 10:00 a.m. at Baie d’Urfe Town Hall.  At 11:30 a.m. there is a service at Briarwood, led by worship band.  We look forward to Faith Sharing by Morgan Wallace, valedictorian at  Villa Maria.  We will share part of her faith journey.

Please keep in your prayers the family of Robert Culley.  Also pray for the youth group meeting tonight, as well as Briarwood’s Vacation Bible Camp starting next Tuesday with 30 kids registered so far, and the Bible study group meeting on Wednesday.

Wishing everyone a great weekend.  See you Sunday,

More info about Wednesday night Bible study:
Hi, Everyone,
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
What does this mean? What is God’s intent, His purpose by making statements in the Bible like these mentioned above.  By spending time together on a Wednesday, each expressing their own views and opinions, we are making huge discoveries as we prayerfully study God’s precious Word.  Come, join us and let’s grow together in the knowledge of the Word of God.
We meet on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. at Moira Robson’s place (99 Somerset Rd, Baie d’Urfé, H9X 2W3)
Please forward this invitation to someone you know who needs God’s love.
God bless you!

Sunday’s Coming 128

Greetings Friends,

This Sunday we meet at two services, 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., with the text from Jonah chapter 1.  We meet Jonah as he reacts to a situation in his life by making a certain decision.  More on “making choices”.

There is Nursery and Kids Faith program at both services.

Below are photos of Shelia and Barbara enjoying a coffee between services last Sunday, as well as the Whitelaws (who have a connection to Amanda Henderson’s new call to St. James, Charlottetown).

Briarwood Kids’ Camp registration still open:  June 25-28.

There is Bible Study and Prayer on Wednesday night at the Heusers’.  All welcome.

Wishing everyone an excellent weekend.

See you Sunday.

Sunday’s Coming 127

Greetings,

Thank you to everyone for last Sunday, with the ordination of elders, reception of new members and the lunch/BBQ! (see photos below)

This Sunday we continue with “Making Choices”, and ask what this meant for the prophet Daniel (6: 1-16).  Kids Faith Program and Nursery at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. services.

This Sunday we’ll also hear from Marilyn Scott on her trip to General Assembly and from the nearly (Rev.) Amanda Henderson.  Amanda did her in-ministry-year here at Briarwood two years ago and moved back to Nova Scotia, marrying Chad.  We plan for Amanda to lead the opening prayer at the 11:30 a.m. service (12:30 p.m. Atlantic) via Skype and to give us a few words on her call to St. James, Charlottetown.  To hear the sermon Amanda preached for the call, click here.

Please remember the Service of Witness to the Resurrection for Dr. Lois Klempa at the Church St. Andrew and St. Paul on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Please remember the Youth Group, who meet tonight at Briarwood.

Do you love kids?  Invite their parents to register them for Briarwood Camp, online here.

With all good wishes,

Greg
