Christmas Eve’s Coming

Greetings Everyone,

Thank you for an excellent set of services yesterday, and to Judy P. for pulling together the Christmas Pagaent with some of the kids.  Christmas Eve is almost here.  Everyone is welcome to services tonight at Briarwood.  4 p.m. with worship bands and 7:30 p.m. with organ and choir.

It was been an amazing year at Briarwood.  Danielle P. has come on board, ministering full-time with children and youth.  We’ve enjoyed a children’s choir program.  Camps for kids.  Easter and Fall study series.  New worship bands and choristers.  New members to the church.  Strong giving to Presbyterian Sharing and PWS&D.

But tonight is a night to remember and celebrate how all the goodness of God among us is made possible.  Jesus is come.  And the whole earth rejoices.

Let joy ring in our church tonight.  Let the grace of God in Jesus Christ fill every heart.

Next week, December 30th, there is ONE SERVICE at 10:30 a.m. (organ/choir).

All good wishes and a very Happy Christmas from the Davidsons!

Greg

Sunday’s Coming 110

Greetings Friends,

Thank you to the McGill Conservatory Choir for being at Briarwood last Sunday at 10 a.m.  You can see their picture below.  What great singing!  This Sunday we welcome The Moderator of the 138th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, and Minister-in-Association at Briarwood, The Rev. Dr. John Vissers to bring greetings and to preach.  As we know, John moves to Toronto to begin as Professor and Academic Dean at Knox College on January 1, 2013.

As we approach the end of the financial year at Briarwood, I attach below the notice in the bulletin with an update.  Remember, at Briarwood we can give on a Sunday through envelopes or if you are out of town or flying around, you can also give online:  click here.

This week remember Tish J., who welcomes a new grandchild (Toronto), and the Youth Group, who meet for a Christmas movie night tonight at the church.

With all good wishes.

See you Sunday 10 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.

Greg

Sunday’s Coming 109

Greetings Friends,

Thank you to all the children and to Alejandro for last week’s Advent Children’s Choir.  This Sunday we welcome the McGill Conservatory Choir to the 10 a.m. service, with the 11:30 a.m. led by worship bands.  The story this second Sunday in Advent is Luke 1: 5-25, the promise of the birth of John the Baptist.

In the photos below you’ll see two pictures of the Introduction to Old Testament class that I’ve been teaching this semester, two of the waterfront on Lac St. Louis from last week, the Men’s lunch this week, and THE ENGAGEMENT OF DANIELLE PIERRE TO ANDRE PARRIS!

Many congratulations to Danielle and Andre on this very happy news.

With all good wishes,

Greg
